Madras was established in 1981 in Pescia, in the heart of Tuscany (Italy), a step away from Collodi, as a chemical company dedicated to the production of detergents and technical products for professional and industrial use.  Within a few months, the company specialised in the treatment of terracotta, which is typical Tuscan building material, the origin of which derives from the times of significant ancient civilizations such as the Etruscan and Roman eras.

The Madras products derive from the need to solve specific issues encountered in construction sites, and to facilitate maintenance of particular surfaces, such as stone, marble, terracotta, stoneware, cement, clinker and parquet.

Today, Madras is a dynamic and solid, fully evolving company, which has an intensive sales network throughout the country with more than 3000 points of sale. The services offered by Madras have been completed with a network of authorised service centres being set up, which constitute the Madras Network. Centres that apply our products and our techniques on a daily basis.

The Madras mission lies in combining technique with the search for solutions regarding prestigious materials such as marble, stone and new surfaces, with respect for the people involved and the environment.

The aim of our research is to provide everyone with technological innovations in terms of product quality as well as application methods, in order to improve surface maintenance and prolong the beauty of the materials over time. In recent years, our attention has been increasingly focusing on the development of products that respect the environment, i.e. green products, with a high biodegradability index and low environmental impact, without compromising the results.
